PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT:

Public access to Harbourfront Business Center is from 6am to 6pm Monday to Saturday. After 6pm you will need assistance to enter the building.

If you have an appointment after 6:00pm, you may arrive early before 6:00pm and wait in the general reception area, or I will come down and get you at your scheduled time.

APPOINTMENT ARRIVALS:

Do not enter if the door is closed. I ask that all patients wait in the general reception area prior to their appointment starting, this is to prevent any disruptions with other patients currently being treated.

Dr. Matthysen is a 2nd generation chiropractor, following in his Grandfathers footsteps. After a knee injury in football when he was 17 and rehabilitating his own knee he realized his true passion was helping others being able to live their best life. He believes that education of condition, nutrition, exercises, and lifestyle modification are all important part of recovery.

Dr. M is a graduate of Portland’s University of Western States with his Doctor of Chiropractic and Masters of Science in Sports medicine. He graduated at the top of his class his Summa Cum Laude honours while involved in various clubs. At UWS he was a tutor for the anatomy lab as well as the neuroanatomy lab. As a student in the Masters of Science in Sports Medicine he spent a year volunteering at local high school sports: football, basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer, as well as various triathlons, beach volleyball tournament and rodeos in Portland.

He is now married to his RMT wife Hannah. They spend weekends exploring BC and staying active with their dog Guinness.

Hannah graduated from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in December 2022 with Honours & Clinical Distinction. She has a clinical evidence-based approach to her practice, and focuses on educating and empowering her patients.

Born and raised on the North Shore, she first found her passion for massage when she began bodywork treating horses; she is a Certified Equine Performance Therapist and also holds a certificate in Business Administration from Capilano University. Hannah also has an extensive background with almost 10 years in the hospitality industry working with the public.

On her spare time you can find Hannah riding horses, walking her great dane Guinness, hiking through forests, or spending time by the ocean with her husband and business partner, Dalen.

Hannah is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia.
